With the rapid development of mobile Internet, smart phones and other mobile terminals are gradually spread, applications based on mobile terminals are alse more and more, the number of devices using the Android system is to occupy most of the country. In addition, with the person’s life expectancy and an aging population increased, patients with osteoporosis also rapidly increase, and it becomes a serious public health problem. Most controllers of bone desity measuring instruments use computers, rarely use mobile terminals, especially mobile terminal using of Android system, bringing inconvenience to the measurement. This paper designs and develops an application to control the bone density measurement based on Android, using quantitative ultrasound technology. The application is developed by Eclipse and S5PV210 board. It establishes communication through searial port to collect, process and show data real time, and get the result such as SOS, BUA and so on. In the end, it shows the result by pdf report and save it in database.Firsty, this paper analyzes the Android system architecture and bone density measurement theory. Secondly, it realizes the main function, such as real time acquisition by searial port, drawing wave by custom views, data management by SQLite, configuration files management by SharedPreferences, generating pdf report by iText. Lastly, by experimental test, the interface of the system is good, and the transmission between the board and the bone density measurement is stable. Besides, the system can display, analyze and manage data in real time, meeting the requirements of measuring bone density.
