In modern warfare, soldier can get the information on battlefield in real time by high technology. High technology can not only make the capability of detecting stronger but also become a serious threat for ground targets. The camouflage can hide the targets and improve the survival probability indirectly. So the camouflage becomes an indispensable way to against detection monitoring. A large number of facts show that the camouflage play a huge role in the battlefield. Therefore many countries in the world have the wide and deep research in camouflage design.This paper shows a new method to design digital camouflage with the computer-aided technology. The most important characteristic of this method is that it use the texture feature of target surrounding to design digital camouflage. People need to gather information in the field in order to design the traditional camouflage. This make the camouflage can not reflect the right background texture details characteristics and cause the texture fuzzy because of the bigger human’s subjective factor. Good camouflages not only reflect the background color, but also can reflect the background texture feature. This method firstly select sample that can represent background characteristics.Then it uses Gabor filter on texture feature extraction for different texture feature image choose different methods segmentation. Thirdly we use the quantitative method of color histogram to extracted representative color from the sample. We can choose the camouflage color form it. Finally generated camouflage pattern through the computer. Experimental results show that,the methodology used to achieve camouflage in color, brightness and texture are basically consistent with the background image, and have achieved very good camouflage effect.
