Photoelectric sighting instrument based on the integration technology of sight stabilization and inertial navigation can substantially improve the operational effectiveness and maneuvering characteristics of land vehicle-mounted weapon system. Sighting-stabilizing precision of the aiming line of photoelectric sighting instrument directly determines target sighting and tracking precision of weapon system under dynamic conditions. Currently the sight-stabilizing method in photoelectric sighting instrument mounted in main battle tanks of China is by human eyes, which may result in error in judgment as tank advances, thus influencing the hit rate and response time of shooting.First, subject background, current conditions in domestic and foreign researches, objective and meaning are demonstrated in this paper. Based on the analysis of current conditions and development of sight-stabilizing precision inspection technology home and abroad, a high-precision dynamic inspection method based on the principle of image method is proposed, which mainly includes image processing system, memory system and image display system. Image algorithms are adopted for real-tie processing of output video signal from photoelectric sighting instrument and target miss distance is calculated, thus realizing online inspection of sight-stabilizing precision and real-time output of target miss distance. In addition, for such characteristics as big data volume and high requirement on timeliness in video image processing, a high-speed digital signal processing platform based on DSP and FPGA is designed. FPGA chip is adopted for buffering and pre-processing of CCD image data, after which data is transmitted to DSP chip. Image algorithms are used to calculate the sight-stabilizing precision of photoelectric sighting instrument. At last, error analysis is conducted for the inspection system.After indoor experiment measurement and outdoor test, result shows that a high-precision test for sight-stabilizing precision of photoelectric sighting instrument is realized based on integration technology of sight stabilization and inertial navigation, which meets technical requirements of the system.
