Mineral resources are hard-renewable natural resources which experienced long geological mineralization and enriched up. After mineral processing, mineral resources become important raw materials for industrial production. In the background of global energy shortage and the proposal of energy sustainable development, mineral processing enterprises should pay more attention to the quality of product, reduce the cost of production, improve resources’utilization, while it mainly depends on its information collection, processing and feedback. In order to succeed in the highly competitive information age, mineral processing companies have to use mineral processing production index monitoring system to monitor various indices data of mineral processing production, thus production management staff can accurately grasp the provision of raw materials, the provision of energy, mining hoppers, and timely process the abnormal situation. At present, mineral processing production index monitoring systems have different characteristics, which can satisfy the basic mineral processing industries’requirements, but there are still some shortcomings, such as incomprehensive of the monitoring index, backward of software technology and unitary of the information presentation. To solve above problems, this thesis developed a mineral processing production index monitoring system platform which realized the integration and monitoring of various indices data. The main contributions of the dissertation are as follows:Firstly, to solve the issues of mineral processing production index monitoring, we review the state-of-the-art of mineral processing production index monitoring and analyze the requirements of mineral processing production index monitoring system platform. Mineral processing production index monitoring system platform requires the integration of DCS’s data, SAP’s data, material measuring data, and realizes the monitoring of various indices data.Secondly, mineral processing production index monitoring system platform is designed based on requirement analysis in this thesis, which includes operation management module, index monitoring module, data acquisition module, data maintenance module, basic information management module, system management module, system help module and remotely upgrade module. The core module of the system platform is the index monitoring module that completes the monitoring of various indices data. According to the category of index, indices can be divided into quality indices, measurable indices, mineral processing hoppers, processing indices etc. Indices’ time scale is divided into hour, shift, day, ten days, months and years. This thesis provides the associated display of comprehensive indices and steping indices, which can guide production management staff to locate alarming cause of comprehensive indices.Thirdly, according to the design of mineral processing production index monitoring system platform, this thesis uses a variety of techniques to implement the features designed. This thesis uses ZedGraph lib to display curve and histogram, employs Factory Talk Transaction Manager to collect DCS’s data and applies remote service access technology to realize the encapsulation of data which contributes to the post-maintenance of the system platform.Finally, the mineral processing production index monitoring system platform has already been used in 4 million tons of JISCO’s concentrator. The practical application results of mineral processing production index monitoring system platform indicate that the system platform has satisfied the actual needs of mineral processing production index monitoring, improved the efficiency and quality of production management.
