Optical Stimulated Luminescence measurement and control system is the system that stimulates, controls, detects and analyses sample based on optically stimulated luminescence dating theory. The system can be widely used in geology, mineralogy, biology, environmental Science and other fields. At present, the common system has disadvantages of weak integration, single light source, expensive and so on. Aiming at these problems, this paper designs and develops a pulsed OSL measurement system based on Lab VIEW using Lab VIEW technique and multichannel optical stimulation source.The hardware of this system include four parts: optical stimulation source, specimen tray, photomultiplier and computer.The software of this system is developed with Lab VIEW, it includes three parts:1. Instrument controlThis part includes optical stimulation source, photomultiplier and their cooperate control. Control of optical stimulation source is consist of wavelength selection, current magnitude settings, optical stimulation source ope n, optical stimulation source close. Control of photomultiplier is consist of HV open, HV close, PMT counting period settings, source control and so on. Because the system is based on the theory of pulsed optically stimulated luminescence, pulse period, light duty ratio is mentioned.2. Parameters calculation, data collection and data processingThis part includes parameters calculation of multichannel LEDs and photomultiplier, photon collection and statistics, counting rate calculation.3. Data expressionThis part shows data display, such as OSL curve graph, real-time report display and data storage. Otherwise, to visually show the process of pulsed OSL detection, real-time pulsed light graph is painted.After integrating the hardware and software integration, this paper analyses the experiments’ result of the control system. The experimental results show that the system prevents effect from optical stimulation source.Because the OSL curve fits trend of luminescence curve landing basically, this system can meet test accuracy. The system reaches expired goal. Because of having many characteristics, such as scalability and pulsed OSL detection capability, this system can be widely used in geology, biology, environmental protection and other fields.
