Currently, rapid prototyping technology has become a major emerging technology in the manufacturing. It is known as a technology which may lead the third industrial revolution. Rapid prototyping technology has many incomparable advantages comparable with traditional manufacturing methods, which can save a lot of time and costs in product development.As one of the most sophisticated technical direction of rapid prototyping technology, stereolithography rapid prototyping is a technology with high precision, high system stability, smoothness on surface, high speed and high material utilization.In order to comply with the trends of desktop system and miniaturization, this subject research a control system of projection stereolithography equipment based on digital micromirror. The system can overcome some disadvantages of the stereolithography technology, such as high-cost and short-lived of part of the device.This subject research the system composition of the stereolithography equipment, and focus on the control system composition, which based on the analysis of the works of the digital light processing technology and the digital micromirror technology. The hardware and software are designed to complete the control of projection stereolithography equipment, which mainly divided into four areas of motion control, temperature control, image control, and user interaction.On the hardware, AVR microcontroller is used as the core, with the circuits of stepper motor drive, temperature and heating, LCD driver and others. The LED and its driver on display device is transformed and the switching circuit between display device and ARM microcontroller is designed. At last, PCB boards for those circuits are designed.On the software, the temperature is controlled by the PID algorithm, the stepper motor is controlled by the timer interrupt, and LCD and other devices is controlled by the program in AVR microcontroller. The display output of image is achieved by a program structure named frame buffer which based on Linux system in ARM microcontroller.The subject completes the control system design and manufacture. Each circuit and driver is working properly, and the design requirements are completed.
