In recent years, wireless sensor networks have a wide range of applications in the military, civil and other related fields, with low complexity, low node cost, random walk in the monitored area, covering a wide area, low power and can work long hours, etc. The gas source localization research based on Wireless Sensor Network aims to find effective precise positioning options, providing technical support for the source of the leak accident emergency treatment, and its results can be applied to the promotion of early fire detection, gas diffusion, environmental monitoring, etc. This paper focuses on wireless gas sensor network source localization issues, mainly carried out at the research aspects: Firstly, describing the current domestic and foreign a lot of major accidents caused by gas leakage, and analyzing the key reasons, many domestic and foreign scholars make a lot of research in order to solve this problem, and summarizing the problems on current the gas leakage source localization. The main content of the research is led to this.Secondly, based on the design characteristics and requirements of the gas leakage source on the detection system, constructing a general framework system, according to the architecture of this system, respectively, from the three aspects of sensor network coordinator node, the router nodes and terminal sensor node the hardware design of the system is introduced. Then, after the introduction of basic software development environment and the main tool of Zigbee protocol stack, the overall design software system is constructed corresponding to the hardware frame. According to the overall design of software, hardware structure is introduced respectively from the coordinator node, the routing node program and terminal transmission of the three aspects of sensor node program in detail. Finally, the network verification is shown. Finally, introducing the common gas leakage model and source localization algorithm, according to the static plume model, the effect of each source localization algorithm is compared in various environments with the simulation to provide crucial decision for the node of sensor network deployment in practice. For example, when the number of nodes is less than 20 the node can be arbitrarily deployed, and when it is greater than 20, with the uniform distribution, the positioning effect is more accurate.
