Wireless sensor network has a high application value in defense military, medicineand health, and many other areas. Wireless sensor networks consist of massiverandomly deployed sensor nodes, which communicate with each other by multi-hop andgenerate a self-organized network. Most of wireless sensor network applications requirethe nodes explicit their own position. So node location technology is one of the keytechnologies in wireless sensor network. For reducing the cost of localization andimproving the precision, we need to study the localization algorithm.This paper studies the problem of determining the node locations in wireless sensornetwork, and introduces the basic method of the localization. Then according to thefollowing two steps, introduces the corresponding node localization algorithm.(1) Estimate the distance between the unknown nodes and anchor nodes,corresponding algorithm: DV-Hop, Sum-Dist, Euclidean;(2) Calculation the position of the unknown nodes According to the estimateddistance, corresponding algorithm: Trilateral positioning, The maximumlikelihood, Min-Max;In addition, this paper analyzes the defects and error sources of the DV-Hop, thenintroduces the Improvement ideas.At last, simulates the introduced range-free localization algorithm, then analysisand compares the results.
