Radio Frequency Identification(RFID) technology is automatic identification technology, whilst achieve two-way communication without contact by wireless radio frequency technology. With its recognition speed, data storage capacity and high reliability and other unique advantages, the RFID technology is widely used wholly visualization visual materials, logistics and supply chain management, asset steward, transportation management, precious commodity security, automation of industrial production and personnel management. Passive RFID tag is the core of Passive RFID system. Low-power and low-cost VLSI technology is development for passive RFID, which is greatly reducing the energy consumption and price of passive RFID tag. The passive RFID tag performance test has being very important, with widely application for people used of daily life.It based on protocols: "GJB7377.1-2011 Air interface for military radio frequency identification Part 1: 800/900 MHz parameters", "ISO/IEC 18000-6: Information technology-Radio-frequency identification for item management-Part6: Parameters for air interface communications at 860 MHz to 960 MHz" and "EPCTM Radio-Frequency Identify Protocols Class-1 Generation-2 UHF RFID Protocol for Communication at 860MHz-960 MHz Version 1.1.0". The operation principle of UHF passive RFID system has analyzes by the radar scattering theory, which has being research into the electromagnetic energy transmission theory and backscatter modulation technique.The performance test of tag chip is very meaningful because of tag chip is the key component of tag core. This paper analyzes tag chips performance impact of tags performance, puts forward a novel tag chip sensitivity testing methods.We was defined write and read tag range, the tag sensitivity, directionality, anti-interference ability and other key test items by according to tag actual application. Tag performance test system is implement of General Instrument with protocol reader, vector signal generator, real-time spectrum analyzers, RF power meter, et al. Tag performance is testing and analysis by Tag performance test system. Test method is improving of the tag chip sensitivity, write tag range and read tag range.
