Currently, COSMIC full function point measurement method is a function point method with relatively high usage rate and good reviews in the field of software size measurement. However, there are also certain situations that COSMIS measurement method is not applicable. Especially when measuring some software with complex internal algorithm, if based on general COSMIC measurement method, it will generate a result with relatively big difference from actual size. For example, for the some cases of this type measured in the thesis, the margin of error between measurement result and actual size is about 70%-80%.According to general principles and rules of COSMIC measurement method, and based on characteristics of analysis algorithm and data processing, it put forward a COSMIC method for measuring algorithm class function compared with measurement rules of IFPUG method on algorithmic software. The thesis has expounded on the following aspects:1. Studied on the core method of IFPUG-FPA for algorithmic software measurement, analyzed the basic reason why COSMIC-FFP is not applicable to algorithm software measurement and expounded on the necessity of COSMIC-FFP for algorithmic class function.2. Starting from the object of interest of COSMIC-FFP, through information processing procedure for analyzing the process of algorithm class function, it put forward a measurement method for algorithm class function in this thesis, summarized principles and rules of measurement, and solved the problem of applicability of COSMIC-FFP for measuring algorithmic software.3. Through case studies and comparison of actual code lines of software with measurement result of the general COSMIC method, the method put forward in this thesis has been improved to some extent in measurement precision.The method put forward in this thesis has remedied the flaw of COSMIC-FFP in calculation of complex software, solved the prominent problem of measuring real-time and embedded system, and expanded the scope of application for COSMIC-FFP, which have great significance for practice and reference.
