Now, the video processing products at home and abroad tends to be in real time.The technology requirements of large amounts of data,real-time, and often contains more complexal gorithm. So,FPGA which has high speed,high densitu and good performance characteristics has become the key parts of the system.Using a piece of FPGA to realize the whole system has become a new direction of development.According to the video image acquisition’s requirements, that the system should be reliable, real-time and have high image quality, the paper designd a real-time video processing system based on FPGA. This design uses Altera’s Cyclone IVEP4CE10E22C8 N,with CMOS camera OV7725 to build a real-time video processing system. First, through the Quartus II software uses Verilog HDL to describe the IIC protocol, and configure the video processing chip. Then, designs the SDRAM controller, and makes the video signal stored in the SDRAM by a ping pong mechanism. Finally, compeles the normal display of the data according to the sequence of the VGA. The further,uses histogram equalization to processe the image.The design realized video acquisition module, storage and display function, and completed the real-time video image enhancement, maked the image more clearly visible.This paper realizes the design of the real-time video processing system, and it has short development cycle, high efficiency, low cost,easy production and convenint maintenance.
