Electromagnetic compatibility(EMC) is an important integral part of electronic system design. And using metal cavity is the main method for electromagnetic interference resistance. Efficient prediction of electromagnetic interference’s worst-case response on the transmission line has a great significance to electromagnetic compatibility design. Analysis electromagnetic coupling characteristics of the transmission line in reverberation chamber also make sense to electromagnetic compatibility design. In this paper, using reciprocity-base method to predict the worst-case induced current of the transmission line in metal cavity, and using reciprocity-base method to analyze electromagnetic coupling characteristics of the transmission line in reverberation chamber, the main contents can be described as follows:(1) According to the reciprocity theorem, the method of calculating induced current of transmission line by the external electromagnetic waves is deduced. By comparison with transmission line model theory results and full-wave simulation results, the effectiveness of reciprocity-base method has been validated.(2) Predicting the maximum induced current by different incident plane wave using reciprocity-base method. By comparison with t full-wave simulation results, the effectiveness of reciprocity-base method has been validated. The effect of the cavity aperture’s size, quantity and transmission line parameters and sampling interval of incident wave have been discussed. Finally, the probability density distribution of the induced current have been analyzed.(3) Predicting the maximum induced current of transmission line within cavity which a wire pass through. The effect of the wire’s length and connection of cavity have been discussed.(4) Introducing the statistical theory model of reverberation chamber. Using reciprocity-base method to calculate the coupling characteristics of the transmission line in reverberation room. By comparison with the results of transmission line model theory and analytic solutions, the validity and accuracy of this method has been validated. Analysis the transmission line parameters’ effect on coupling characteristics.
