High birefringence fiber Bragg grating also has the property of fiber Bragg grating and high birefringence fiber,as a torsion sensor. The large measuring range, strong anti-interference has certain scientific significance to the study of dynamic characteristics of various mechanical transmission system.and to solving the noncontact torque and reliablemeasurement problem under harsh environment of high temperature, and the danger of explosion,and strong electromagnetic interference.This paper proposes a embedded engineering material sensor structure,and analyse the torsional characteristics of high birefringence fiber grating. The concrete research contents are as follows:Firstly, introduces the background and significance of the subject, the paper introduced the development and application of fiber grating sensing technology, and the current research situation of twisted Hibi fiber grating sensing technology.Secondly, describe the basic principle of the reverse coupling mode theory and the prior coupled modetheory.the reverse coupling mode theory combines with the prior coupled modetheory to mathematical modeling of high birefringence fiber grating,And simulated with simulation software,To obtain a high birefringence fiber grating reflective spectrum,and by comparing the transmission matrix method validation, with the increase of torsional angle reflection spectrum change at the same time,respectively, from the grating, high birefringence fiber perspective, parse the characteristic of roots to get center wavelength and peak reflectivity curve between the torsion angle.Finally, in view of the high birefringence fiber Bragg grating torque characteristics, design and build a high birefringence fiber Bragg grating torsion test system, comparing the experimental data with the theoretical curve graph, verified the correctness of the analysis of the coupled mode theory.
