Simultaneous multi-wavelength laser has been of great interest for many applications such as medical instrumentation, precision laser spectroscopy, Lidar, and nonlinear optical mixers. The traditional method of obtaining multi-wavelength laser is that the laser operate in the different transition with the same gain medium, however, the gain competition between the transition lines is very intense, and this will affect the stability of multi-wavelength laser output. In order to effectively avoid the gain competition and realize the multi-wavelength laser output, the theory of intra-cavity pumped self-Raman three-wavelength continuous laser is investigated. And the specific research contents as the following:1.The principles of quasi-three-level laser, four-level laser and Raman laser are analyzed, and the continuous-wave laser rate equations are derived;2.The mathematical model of four-level and Raman dual-wavelength laser is derived. Basing on this, the structure scheme of quasi-three-level, four-level and Raman three-wavelength laser is presented, and the model which can be used to depict the behavior of three-wavelength laser is constructed.3.Being aimed at the mathematical model, the numerical simulation is carried out, and the output characteristics of the four-level and self-Raman dual-wavelength laser are obtained. Based on this, the output characteristics of the intra-cavity pumped self-Raman three-wavelength are developed, and the inner mechanism is elaborated and analyzed in detail.
