| The cultural TV program has been popular among Chinese audiences since 2013. Being quite different from previous “professors’ talks”, these cultural TV programs are cultural reality TV shows that focus on showing Chinese traditional culture. To do a study on cultural reality TV show means to study how to spread cultural knowledge through recreational skills in a TV program, just in order to provide references for Chinese cultural TV programs’ long-term development.Compared to entertainment reality TV shows and competing TV games, cultural reality TV show is composed of cultural TV program’s idea, reality TV show’s recording and displaying skills and entertaining elements. This study summed up the common characteristics in three aspects, including on the content, the narrative part and the spread. The TV program Chinese Spelling Hero was taken as the example for detail analysis to provide a referenced model for other cultural reality TV shows. What’s more, this study will discuss about cultural reality TV shows’ questions and provide suggestion for its long-term development. |
