This paper focuses on the problem of extended targets angle measurement of monopulse radar. Angle measurement approaches under the condition of insufficient velocity compensation and clutter have been researched. The main contents of this paper can be summarized as follows:Chapter 1 introduces the background and current situation of the subject, and summarizes the main work done in this paper.Chapter 2 focuses on angle measurement of step frequency monopulse radar. The echo model of step frequency signal is established, and then several important parameters of waveform design are analyzed, besides, two classic range profile spelling algorithms are addressed. This paragraph introduces two basic angle measurement methods of monopulse radar, and highlights the angle measuring principle of amplitude sum-difference radar. The model of antenna pattern is established, and characteristics of sum-difference channel pattern are analyzed, the condition of angle measuring by sum-difference rate is introduced as well. Finally, angle measurement of high resolution range profile is introduced.Chapter 3 focuses on angle measuring methods in high resolution range separation profile and an improved cross-term angle measuring method based on range separation profile is proposed. The improved method could solve serious angle error problem caused by inefficient compensation of target motion. Finally, by comparing HRRP angle measuring method and HRRSP angle measuring method under simulation, the advantage of HRRSP angle measuring method under varying velocity and low SNR condition is proved.Chapter 4 focuses on angle measuring method under the condition of clutter interference, and two range profile angle measuring method based on clutter elimination and target alignment are proposed. According to the motion difference between target and clutter, an angle measuring method based on clutter elimination is proposed; in order to improve the SCR, targets between different frames are aligned, thus an angle measuring method based on target alignment is proposed. The simulation has proved the effectiveness of the two new methods.Systematic conclusions are finally drawn in Chapter 5, as well as the defects of this paper and the prospects of further research.
