The high resolution range profile techniques have been used in target identification, precision-guided, battlefield surveillance and other important fields. But it has been inevitably affected by the clutter so as to reduce the imaging performance in practice. Aimed at the problem, the author analyzed the imaging performance of high resolution range profile in the ideal environment firstly, introduced the principles and implementing schemes of three algorithms of high resolution profiles in detail. And then founded scattering center model of the ordinary metal truck target with three imaging algorithms, at last, analyzed the performance and compare the imaging results of the three algorithms, the linear frequency modulation signal (LFM) imaging algorithm is better for the performance, but it is worse for the effect of moved target . Stepped frequency waveforms (SFW) imaging processing algorithm is more complex. Phase-coded waveforms imaging algorithm is better at anti-jamming, but more sensitive to Doppler shift.The paper analyzed and simulated the clutter model in the complex port scene. Four kinds of clutter's models are studied and simulated by applying the ZMNL method, such as rayleigh,log-normal,weibull and K-distributed clutter. Based on the theory, a new backscattering coefficient model of complex scene based on irradiation area is proposed. The calculation problem of the backscattering coefficient in the complex scene is solved using the model. The complex scene's clutter properties of amplitude and spectrum is deduced in the paper. Taking log-normal distributed and weibull distributed clutter for example, the author simulated the composite distribution of them, the result showed that the composite distribution follows logarithmic normal distribution with two parameters.Based on the analyzing of the model of clutter and the high resolution range profile's performance in the no clutter's environment, the author analyzed interferential effect to the high-resolution range profiles' algorithms because of the environmental clutter. The theoretical analysis showed that the clutter caused the reduce of the resolution and would cover up the useful signal. The paper simulated the anti-jamming performance of the algorithms using the technique of clutters' modeling and simulation. The result showed that Phase-coded waveforms is the best one at anti-jamming, the linear frequency modulation signal (LFM) imaging algorithm is better, stepped frequency waveforms (SFW) imaging processing algorithm has bad performance.
