The pulse triggering time of six-wave bi-variants phase control system is calculated off-line originally, and the thyristor is triggered through the look-up table method. Based on this, the calculation of pulse triggering time on-line is studied and improved in this paper, which the calculation process is in real time. Which makes the frequency varies continuously in the statistical sense of multi-cycles.In the aspect of theory study, this paper is mainly to solve the two variables control problem of the bi- variants phase control system. One problem is the pulse rising edge control, therefore, the method of thyristor trigger time which is calculated real-time is simplified and summarized in this paper, and the characteristics and the error from linearization of different modulation wave were analyzed, which provides the basis for program design of real-time calculation. The other problem is the pulse falling edge control, which is the key to converter. Therfore, the problem of converter was analyzed, and the frequency varies continuously in the statistical sense of multi-cycles was stated.In the aspect of simulation and experiment, firstly, modeling and simulation has done in MATLAB, and modulation wave differs, the result differs, and then the results were compared and analyzed. Secondly, the software and hardware of the experimental system was designed, and the results were analyzed and compared with simulation. At last, the data of motor mechanical properties and output power were measuring by instrument real-time, and the data was plotted in MATLAB.The simulation and experiment results show thatthe thyristor trigger time calculated real-time is accurate and reliable, and the frequency varies continuously in the statistical sense of multi-cycles was realized in the bi-variants phase control cyclo converter system.
