In today’s global integration, worldwide business and travel activities are going most frequently. When people traveling from one country to another country, has a globally consistent and accurate time synchronization equipment has become urgent needs. With the development of mobile networks and wireless communication technology, people’s daily life and work more rely on smart phone. Therefore, time synchronization has become a necessary basic functions for smart phone,in order to solve the delay and confusion caused by time inaccurate.The topic of this article from the World Wide smart phone project of our company, the purpose of project is to provide a suitable smart phone for global users and operators. Due to the network environments overseas is much special in different countries, time synchronization has become the key point in this project development.This article will focus on the research of time synchronization principle, and analyze the technical features of NITZ, NTP and time zone positioning, then propose and realize the solution of time synchronization based on Android smart phone.Research work is mainly including in the following aspects:(1) The research on the Android clock system. This article introduces the overviewof Android framework, and the working mechanism of the Android system clocksystem.(2) The research on the technical principles of time synchronization and timezonedatabase. This article studies the technical principles and characteristics of NITZand NTP, analyzes the rules of world time zone and time zone database, andintroduces the application scenarios of these technologies based on Androidsmart phone.(3) The design and implementation of time synchronization based on Android smartphone. This article constructs the system model and technical solution of timesynchronization based on Android smart phone, then designs the work flow andalgorithms, and introduces the key technical transformation of system, as well ascoding to implement time synchronization using NITZ and NTP technologies.(4) Verified time synchronization. This article provides the test and evaluationmethod, designs the experiment to test and verify the system, then analyzes thereliability, accuracy and application results of this solution based on Androidsmart phone.
