With the development of the society’s digitization and intelligent, and the outdoor position, navigation technology maturing, the people’s demands for a high performance of indoor positioning algorithms are becoming stronger and stronger. RFID(Radio Frequency Identification)stands out from many existing indoor location technologies, depending on its advantages which are not need to touch and see each other, and it can aim to more than one goal. So RFID has become a hot point for the research of indoor positioning technology. This paper focuses on the algorithm research of RFID applying to the indoor location positioning. In this paper, the main work has been done as following:Firstly, this paper simulated and analysed the LANDMARC algorithm, including the impact of number of reference tags on positioning accuracy and the system’s ability of resistance to noise. The simulation results showed that the increase of reference tags’ number could improve the positioning accuracy, but its function was not obvious after it reached some a certain number; The competition of algorithm with noise to algorithm without noise showed the same tend, so the system’s ability of resistance to noise was good.Then, this paper simulated and analysed the VIRE algorithm, including the impact of threshold and number of virtual reference tags on positioning accuracy. The results showed that the number of virtual reference tags could improve the positioning accuracy to some extent; The positioning accuracy was good when the threshold was between 0.5 and 3.Finally, in this paper, a number of improvements had been done about LANDMARC and VIRE algorithm. In addition, reference label for LANDMARC algorithm has been improved display mode, the traditional rectangular display is adjusted to the equilateral triangle, experiments showed that accuracy had been significantly improved than before. The interpolation method of virtual tags’ RSSI values of VIRE algorithm changes from linear interpolation which was quit different from reality to Newton interpolation. Then the VIRE based on Newton interpolation and traditional VIRE had been simulated and compared, result showed that the accuracy had been improved.
