| As a green and secure communication method,visible light communication has got more and more attention by its excellent characteristics of safety and energy saving. It can achieve the integration of lighting and communications, saving the energy and providing a new way for the integration of multi-network. The approach of the visible light communication is changing the output light intensity by changing the forward voltage or current of the LED. Along with the popularization of ARM platform devices, this paper attempt to design a new network accessing method for ARM platform and broad the application of ARM terminals.The research of the ARM platform network accessing system is based the exploration of modulation characteristic of the LED and the transmission feature of the Ethernet. The transceiver of this system can support the transfer rate of 10 Mbps through the utilization of blue LED. The transmission speed of 10 Mbps can meet the needs of the ARM platform. The main content of the article includes the following aspects.(1) The design of the transceiver is based the modulation measurement of the ordinary LED and the research of the network model of the Ethernet. The LED is the important component of the optical communication. We also give out the result of the transceiver performance measurements, and the transceiver can work stably in this network accessing system.(2) The design of the software is based the Linux OS that is the most popular operating system on the ARM platform through the study on the transport mechanism of the Ethernet. The software includes two parts: user-space program and kernel-space program. The kernel of the OS is responsible for the communication of the program in different space.(3) The network accessing system of the ARM platform through the visible light includes the design of the hardware and software. The bit error rate is below 10-3 with the transmission range is 40 cm by the single LED depending on this design plan. This scheme also can provide a test platform for other system development based VLC. |
