With the development and popularity of information technology, wireless communication has been an intensive and inseparable part of people’s lives. As a result, the requirements for the higher performance of antenna grows to be increasingly demanding. A system for automatic antenna test with high precision turns out to be very important and indispensable in the process of the antenna research. In the present research, a control software for the antenna testing system based on the project of the testing system for a microwave anechoic chamber is explored and actualized.The research of the testing system for the microwave anechoic chamber aims to design an automatic testing system for the far field antenna, with small measuring error, strong anti-interference capability, and high measuring sensitivity. The testing operation can be greatly simplified through the software supported by the system. The relative parameters like antenna pattern, the beam width, the side lobe width and the antenna gain can be measured faster and more precisely. This system mainly comprises the servo system, the testing apparatus and the monitoring software. The hardcore of the whole system belongs to the control software, which uses the servo system and testing apparatus to finish the entire testing work. On the basis of the comprehension of information and research literature on a variety of antenna testing system, we have completed the overall design antenna test systems. This paper describes the principles and the role of servo systems and test equipment, and focuses on describing the test system control software module design and the specific implementation. The system is composed of three modules of turntable control, apparatus control and data processing. And the details of these modules as well as their sub modules are also discussed in this paper.The innovational part of this paper is that the complex process of the antenna test is simplified to several simple and convenient operations through the coordination of software and hardware. Accordingly, ordinary users, even if they don’t have the professional knowledge, can finish the test by using this software so long as they receive simple training. In addition, the innovation of the research is also demonstrated by the automatic generation of the test reports, and the automatic backup of the test data.
