Wireless Ad-hoc network terminals finish networking and communicating in point-to-point way. Such terminals do not need any infrastructure, and can establish network by themselves in mobile state. Based on the cooperation between nodes, they can achieve fast arrangement and data transmission in complex environment. Compared with traditional communication systems, Ad-hoc terminals establish network and communicate without base stations, therefore they have broad prospective applications in military, disaster rescue and other scenes.This dissertation presents a new wireless Ad-hoc communication terminal. The author combines embedded system development with IEEE 802.1 In technology, to implements the hardware and software of this communication system. This terminal system focuses on non-infrastructure scene. Based on Samsung S3C2440 ARM9 main control platform, the author designs and implements 802.1 In module, voice compression module, touch screen, video transmit module, etc., and achieves integration and control by main control platform. Meanwhile, considering the device volume, cost and availability, the ultimate system can build small scale Ad-hoc network, and transmit multimedia data of text, voice and video. The main work of this dissertation is as follows:1. Hardware design and establishment of the communication terminal. First the author proposes hardware block diagram of the terminal, then completes design of each part, selection of chips and modules, and drawing of circuit schematics. Finally the PCB boards are created, welded and powered on.2. Design and implementation of voice compression module. Based on AMBE-2000 voice compression chip, the author describes the details of hardware structure, driver and software.3. Network establishment and programming of wireless module. The driver of RT3070 module is transplanted, and related options are configured. TCP/IP programming is adopted in user space to finish network communications.4. Establishment of software system. Based on the Qt Embedded framework, the author finish programming and debugging of application MiANET, and whole terminal software system from Linux kernel, Qtopia graphical operating system, to the user software.
