With the continuous development of the Ethernet, a network card used to access network become more indispensable. It is integrated into more and more electronic devices, and the card market prospects continue to be promising. With the constant advances in technology, the data transfer rates of the card is rising. 10/100 M Ethernet card is currently the most widely used, Gigabit Ethernet card in the latest equipment has also been appeared, academia has even launched a 10/100 G Ethernet card proposal. Many companies have invested a lot of resources to the development of the card. The core technology of network card is the high-speed data transceiver. How to accelerate the transceiver’s development process and shorten the time to market cycles are the focus of engineers concerned.Through analyzing the development process, it is found that the mainly process includes algorithm design, algorithm simulation, algorithm converted to hardware description language, hardware simulation, FPGA or ASIC implementation. After analysis, the hardware simulation step takes a long time, accounting for about half of the entire project cycle time. If we can find a way to greatly shorten the time of this step, it will significantly shorten development cycles, reduce costs and make great contributions to the entire project.In this paper, by using an object-oriented framework technology for the transceiver hardware emulation, propose a conception about development platform based on framework. This development platform can generate hardware simulation environment that includes the test stimulus and result auto-check. It also achieves some algorithms that can be configured, including but not limited to finite impulse response filter(FIR), fast Fourier transformer(FFT).In the next transceiver project, the existing development platform can be slightly modified and extended to build simulation environment for the new transceiver, accelerate the project schedule. Other regular configuration algorithm can also be added to this development platform, reduce the workload of future projects in algorithm design.
