Subcarrier index-modulation OFDM has become one of most advantaged research trends because of its lower peak-to-average power ratio, higher energy efficiency, and strong ability to against offset.This paper studies subcarrier index-modulation optimization scheme from transmitter to receiver which based conventional subcarrier index-modulation scheme. A joint two-dimensional index modulation transmitter structure is proposed combined with frequency index modulation and spatial modulation, and three detection algorithms are proposed for this system. Finally, peak-to-average power ratio of this joint system is compared with conventional OFDM System.Specific work of this paper can be summarized as follows:In Chapter 1, development status and system diagram of index-modulation which including frequency index modulation and airspace index modulation is introduced. Advantage and disadvantage are compared between subcarrier-index modulation OFDM and conventional OFDM in this chapter.Chapter 2 explores transmitter structure of subcarrier-index modulation OFDM. Two optimized transmitter structure are proposed for the shortcomings of traditional transmitter structure. This two optimized transmitter structure can achieve lower Bit Error Rate(BER) without increasing the complexity of transmitter.Chapter 3 discusses the receiver detection algorithm of subcarrier-index modulation. Two detection algorithms are summarized and then four detection algorithms are applied or proposed for the shortcomings of these two detection algorithms. These algorithms can be in approaching or even equivalent to the optimal performance while significantly reducing the complexity of detection.Chapter 4 studies detection algorithm of receiver and antenna selection of transmitter on airspace index-modulation ie spatial modulation. Firstly, summarizes four common detection algorithms from related papers and proposes a low complexity near ML detection algorithm. Secondly, summarizes three common antenna selection algorithms from related papers and proposes a low complexity antenna selection algorithm.Chapter 5 studies a joint algorithm which combines spatial modulation and frequency index-modulation OFDM systems. Proposes a joint transmitter scheme based on space-frequency dimensional index-modulation and gives three detection algorithms for this scheme, one is the optimal performance called Maximum Likelihood(ML) detection and the other are low complexity near ML detections. Finally, peak-to-average power ratio(PAPR) of this scheme is compared with conventional OFDM scheme to illustrate the advantage than OFDM.Chapter 6 concludes this paper and point out possible research direction which needs to further explorer.
