At present Chinese market needs more than just a simple technology, but need a popular open environment and a quality end-user experience. Products can provide intelligent set-top box Android system multimedia broadcast platforms to meet the specific requirements of the times.Sichuan Cable TV Network has introduced the idea of incorporating the internet into their cable operations. To further enhance the interaction of the "post TV era" in the TV screen appeal by multi screen technology, a new generation of intelligent Android set-top box set IP and DVB, with a variety of interfaces to access different networks, can support the basic business and television interactive service and satisfy the cloud-incloud computing era. Following the norms of software engineering, this paper introduces the process of design and implementation of a multi video player set-top box based on Android. The online video file will read, play, collect and other functions to achieve a real-time RTSP(Real Time Streaming Protocol) network streaming video playback function. The video player is written using Java language and Eclipse editing tools. This paper gives operation flow charts, local interface diagrams, and the process of the system design. Discussions of the problems encountered in the design process and the solutions are also given. The media player can be operated independently in the Android system and has the functions of: play, pause, stop, fast forward, rewind, and volume adjustment. Based on the unlimited resources of the online broadcast platform of Android TV set-top box, this player is easier to understand and has a better man-machine interactive experience. UI design with more features will lead the future development of the Android set top box.
