Relying on the superior insulating property and non-magnetic saturated property, the electronic current transformer meets the demand of the electrical power system for high capacity and high voltage grade and the demand of the new power grid system for intelligent and digitalized development. The electric current transducer of the Rogowski coil is a kind of the electronic current transformers. This paper first expounds the work principles of Rogowski coil to measure current and conducts a detailed analysis of the two working status of Rogowski coil and its frequency characteristics under the corresponding working status. By establishing the mathematical model of Rogowski coil, the influence of the position offset, external magnetic field disturbance and environment temperature changes of the wires to be tested on the coil performance is analyzed. Based on the analysis results, some improvement measures are put forward.However, the complex working environment factors (such as temperature, vibration and electromagnetic interference) influences the measurement accuracy, long-term stability and reliability of the traditional electronic current transformer, and impedes its industrialization process. Concerning the above problems facing the traditional electronic current transformer, this paper puts forward the basic theory and design principle of the high-performance PCB (Printed-Circuit Board) Rogowski coil electric current transducer based on the theoretical analysis and objective practices. After that, a set of Rogowski coil based on the PCB framework is designed. This paper gives a detailed introduction of the procedures to make the PCB Rogowski coil; theoretically discusses the methods to increase the mutual inductance of PCB Rogowski coil; and conducts an optimization experiment of the PCB Rogowski coil through the selection of structural parameters and the coil cabling methods. The experimental data also shows that the new current transducer based on the PCB Rogowski coil can improve measurement precision.At last, a theoretical inductance mathematical model based on the PCB Rogowski coil is put forward. Through experimental measurement and comparison with the original theoretical inductance mathematical model, the new inductance mathematical model can obtain more accurate measurement results, which solves the puzzlement of the error between the practical measurement value and the theoretical value.
