So there is an urgent requirement for error-proofing measures to reduce production losses caused by SMT line material error, this is the reason why SMT error-proofing system is important for the Manufactories.This article describes these several system aspects from requirement analysis, system design, system implementation and system test.The system requirement section provides the business requirements for Suzhou A Company according to the analysis of the SMT product line business and supply chain business of Suzhou A Company, and also provides the function modules according to the business analysis. The system design section introduces the design methods in detail according to the system requirements, and also introduces the Database Design for the system. The system implementation section introduces implementation of each function modules of this system by using Visual Foxpro development Environment. The system test section provides system running status while this system deploys in the Suzhou A Company, and the test result shows that the function of the system match requirements from A Company.Eventually, this system was applied in Suzhou A Company SMT product line, and this system standardize the operation process of the SMT operator, and prompt the station which shorts material, to improve SMT production lines feeding accuracy, to improve production quality, so that to reduce product defect rate, and combined with A company’s materials management system to improve Suzhou A company’s surface mount production line efficiency to save labor costs.
