Research And Design Of IPTV-based Embeded Browser Function Extensions

With the rapid development of the Internet in recent years and the advent of the information age, as a product of the triple-play bundling, IPTV has become an important field of development of home appliances industry. IPTV own broadband Internet, multimedia and some other technologies, and show the user more colorful services. Meanwhile WebOS is generated in the cloud computing and big data age. its combination with IPTV will also bring more technological innovation. As a critical applications of IPTV, browser is used to visite many services by user, so it is equivalent to a platform more than just a software. Thus, it is important to design a high-performance, feature-rich and experience of good effects browser according to the user needs.Firstly, This paper analyzes the technical characteristics of common WebOS and browser and study the open-source browser core about WebKit architecture and related technologies; By analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of SDL and other GUI system, I propose for the low-end device, multi-browser solution. Secondly, In this paper, we design and implement a middleware module based on SDL platform by optimizeing WebKit PlatForm module, so that the browser of STB has efficient external event processing and display capabilities. And I provide relevant service interface for operations of IPTV about fast forward, rewind, pause and so on and about controling the focus frame on the screen quickly and correctly moving to the target node.Lastly, I design and implement a prototype of a browser with IPTV interactive features and verify the research programs and middleware. The results indicate that the browser can correctly and efficiently perform remote events and video services of IPTV.
