Large building appear in people’s daily life with the development of urbanization. While people stand in these large building, it’s not an easy thing for them that finding the place where they are going to from the unfamiliar surroundings. However, the personal mobile devices have been used by most consumer with the popularity of network, especially the 3G/4G mobile network, which make it be a primary demand that through mobile devices access to a variety of information. Outdoor map has been widely used as it satisfied the demands of people’s outdoor activity, and now, it is an important factor to improve user experience that the map app could bring the function of indoor location and indoor navigation. However, developing the indoor map will encounter more difficulties which outdoor map won’t have. First, outdoor map app can use the GPS signal to locate user’s position in the outer environment, nevertheless the GPS couldn’t work since its signal is blocked by the building. Second, the outdoor map is a two-dimension space, which don’t need to worry about that several geographic entities appear in the same coordinate, but the indoor map has to consider this situation. The purpose of this thesis is to implement a prototype system to realize the function of indoor location and route planning in three-dimension space. To realize the prototype system, this thesis finish these work. At first, this thesis expounds how to study the knowledge about the geographic information system, and I learned how to classify the geographic feature, and how to draw the outdoor map and indoor map with the different map layers. Second, this thesis expounds how to collect the WIFI information in the indoor experimental area, then stored these information into a SQLite database after processing the WIFI signal. This SQLite database will be moved into the mobile’s SD card, because the prototype system need these information to locate the use’s position. Last, this thesis expounds how to collect the connection information such as stairs and lift, through which can arrive another floor from current floor. With these information, the route planning can be divided into two or three parts when the initial address and the destination address are in the different plane. All the parts will be combined into a practicable route. After building the prototype system, this thesis does some test on it. The result of those test indicated that the prototype achieved the initial goals of the design, as it can locate the use’s position and deal with the problem of route planning in three-dimension space.
