With the rapid development of the mobile phone industry, now the mobile phone has been integrated into the lives of everyone. And a complete industrial chain has been formed consequently. In order to capture the market, major companies also have launched their own brand mobile phone. In addition to the production of mobile phone, the detection of the function is also very important. However, the domestic detection techniques still remain at a relatively low level. The mobile phone companies mainly detect the process quality and life. Function detections of mobile phone are neglected. So it can not avoid that some of the phones with weakness enter into the market, resulting in the loss to consumers and manufacturers.This thesis investigates the current domestic mobile phone quality testing problems encountered in mobile phones production. Then, a new method to detect the hardware capabilities of a mobile phone is proposed. By investigating the phone detection process, this thesis analyzes the basic steps of the detection. Based on the steps, the thesis studies the principle of mechanical drive, the audio analysis and the image recognition, and then put forward new ideas and new methods for the automatic detection of mobile phone function. Combining with mechanical drive and computer Labview software programming, a prototype of automated detection is made and tested. The correct rate of the test is over 95%. Test result indicates that the detection system of phone hardware can complete the detection of the phone’s voice loop and keyboard. The proposed automated phone hardware detection is better than manual operation in efficiency. The proposed detection method supplies the vacancy in domestic mobile phone detection field and opens a new path for the detection of mobile phone. In addition, the method provides a reference for the detection of other portable electronic devices.
