The acceleration sensors manufactured with the processing technology of Micro Electro Mechanical Systems(abbreviated as MEMS)have a wide range of applications in industry, agriculture, national defense and consumer electronics. The ADXL345 drive on the embedded Linux must be achieved to promote the application of ADXL345 of ADI company on Linux in more wide areas.This dissertation utilizes the research and development project of a S3C2440 A ARM processor as the background while adopting the mini2440 development board of Friendly ARM as the development platform. Then ADXL345, the triaxial acceleration sensor of ADI company is used in the acceleration signal detection. On the hardware it devises the I2 C communication connection between the mini2440 development board of Friendly ARM and ADXL345 of ADI company. Meanwhile it develops and designs the ADXL345 device drivers on the embedded Linux. The development of a simple driver test application has been completed as well.With the development and testing on the hardware and software platform of mini2440 development board, the feasibility and effectiveness of the software design scheme for the sensor’s bottom-level drive is tested and verified by indirect verification of drivers’ performance and reliability in terms of the working status of the ADXL345 acceleration sensor.
