In the last few years, wireless communications have developed dramatically. Specifically, Near-field communications have been quickly integrated into our daily life. How to make the near-field communications to meet our daily requirements has attracted a lot of attention and become one of the most concerned problems.In this article, we first state the current situation of the near-field communications and then introduce one newly emerged technology, ultrasonic communications, comprehensively. The fundamental theory of the ultrasonic communications will be introduced. Then, we will discuss the necessity of studying the ultrasonic communications and illustrate its significant contribution to our daily life.Next, we will study the link budget for the studied ultrasonic communications systems. We will start with its application scenarios and analyze the link requirements. Based on our analysis, we design a complete transmission link for the ultrasonic communications systems. The detailed design for the transmission and receiving blocks will be discussed. This part will be the foundation for the whole article.This article present the simulation results for the designed ultrasonic transmission link with different modulation modes and channel conditions. Furthermore, we provide the results for the practical scenarios. The results also verify the facts that the proposed ultrasonic communications works well in practical scenarios and can meet the daily demand. The good performances also prove the fact that our design is reasonable.In the last chapter of this article, we provide deep analysis for the synchronization design of the ultrasonic communications and give simulation results. As an important block for the link design, the synchronization block will have severe impact on the performance of the ultrasonic communications link. Therefore, we will discuss in detail about this part. Through simulation, we verify the correctness of the synchronization design. As the last part of this article, our results complete this whole link design of the studied ultrasonic communications and verify the reliability of our design.
