The environment and situation of modern battlefield change rapidly and it is crucial to obtain real-time information.Tactical data link is a key technology for realizing informationzed and intelligence war.It ensures the information exchange between system members and makes the operations on a single-platform into a combine one,which enhance the ability to deal with complex battlefield situation.Most data links adopt time division multiple access mode because of its good anti-interception,good anti-jamming capabilities and flexibility in networking.The premise of using time division multiple access technology is network synchronization.This paper takes Link16 as an example to study the network synchronization.The results are also applicable to other systems.The existing network synchronization algorithm of Link16 assumes that the propagation time of the interrogation and reply are equal,which results in a large error in synchronization.This paper introduces the system characteristics of Link16 in detail and analyzes the message type,package format,the process of message generation and synchronization process.Focusing on the analysis of existing synchronization algorithms and simulation model,this paper points out the irrationalities of the existing synchronization algorithms and simulation model?The paper also proposes two optimized synchronization algorithms.Compared with the existing synchronization algorithms,these two optimized algorithms consider the relative movement characteristics between the terminals and the influence of this relative movement on the propagation delays more fully.Therefore,higher synchronization accuracy can be achieved.Their channel transmission costs are exactly the same as the existing synchronization algorithms.Finally,this paper proposes a synchronization algorithm by using two Network Time Reference(NTR)terminals for synchronization base on the idea of mutual synchronization.Two time deviation estimates are obtained through two NTR terminals,the terminals to synchronize consider the time difference between the two NTR terminals to send the reply message and the distance between itself and the two NTR terminals then gives the two time deviation estimates the appropriate values.The feasibility and effectiveness of the optimized synchronization algorithm are verified by analyzing the simulation results of the optimized algorithm.
