With the rapid development of the Internet, it brings out increasingly great challenge on the aspect of the security, scalability and any other aspects. Meanwhile,owing to the continually changing industrial pattern and the constantly evolving network architecture, the network architecture turns to be more complicated and goes against the network innovation. Only the simplification of the basic network architecture and the abstraction of its intrinsic function can help us dealing with the various challenges so as to support and promote the continuous and progressive development of the Internet. SDN(Software Defined network), an emerging network architecture which is featured with the forwarding and control element separation and can be programmed directly, has the characteristics of the flexible software programming and can get rid of the fetter of the traditional network device to the network’s controlling function, which can effectively tackle many issues which the network is facing now.The core concept of the SDN is the forwarding and control element separation on the network level, using the southbound interface to control and manage the device of the whole network in a centralized way, abstracting the underlying device by the control plane, so as to supply the uniform management and programmatic interface for the upper-layer applications. SDN can be more efficient to solve the problems of traditional network, but also beneficial to help the network adapting to the variation of the future network.In terms of the core concept of the SDN, this thesis puts forward the multi-domain hierarchical system architecture according to the characteristics of the multi-domain network, and affords a new referenced scheme to the control supervisor of the multi-domain. It focuses on the control and management of the multi-domain network under the environment of the SDN, designing and realizing the control management system of the multi-domain hierarchical network, and treating the control plane in layers according to the network scale(different hierarchy levels correspond to different control systems). On the realizing of the system, there are many problems to be solved, such as the topology discovery and maintenance of the multi-domain network, the interface ofthe superior and subordinate communication system, the management of the service states and the decision information of the inter-domain routing.In this thesis, the first and second chapters introduce the relative knowledge of the new type of the network architecture and the SDN. Based on the idea that the SDN is the forwarding and control element separation, the third chapter puts forward the related functional needs and the solution to the key problem in the system. On this basis, the fourth chapter gives a detailed introduction of the realization of the core module design in the superior and subordinate control system. The fifth chapter builds the multi-domain hierarchical control system, and makes a comprehensive test for the basic function of the multi-domain network, the sermng service state management, and the broadband guarantee of the special service,etc. Finally, this thesis summarizes the research and points out the future work directions in the last chapter.
