Transceiver module is an important part in modern microwave and millimeter wave circuit system. It has a wide application in satellite navigation systems, radar systems, phased array antenna systems and ranging systems. The design of transceiver module has many different needs and challenges for different purposes in the wireless communication system. With the development of IC design and material technology, the performance of the transceiver module has also been improved greatly.The main content of this thesis is to design a RF front-end transceiver module for K band ranging system application. We analyzed the principle of microwave radio frequency circuit and technology handbook in detail. Each modulation is designed using modularization method. Then, the whole transceiver modulation are debugged and tested. Finally, the completed design of transceiver modulation is satisfied for the user’s index. The main contents of this paper are as follows:1. In order to obtain better harmonic suppression, the transceiver module use S band and K band signal which is two times the frequency conversion. In order to obtain better mirror frequency suppression, the bridge and the image rejection mixer are used in this transceiver module. The PLL of frequency synthesis technology which provides S band and Ku band local oscillator signal in the module has high stability and low phase noise.2. Modular design is used in this transceiver module. The transceiver module is designed for good interconnect structure. In order to match the indicators in each modules, the suitable structure and chip are carefully selected. According to different signal frequencies, each module is designed with different technology, such as Multi-layer PCB technology and micro assembly technology.3. Some softwares such as ADS and HFSS are used for circuit simulation and optimization. The design of cavity structure and micro assembly structure are completed by using Solidworks and AutoCAD software. The design of PCB circuit is done by using Altium designer software.4. Each module is debugged and tested alone. Then, the whole receiver and transmitter of transceiver module are debugged and tested. Finally, the test data of K band transceiver module is analyzed.After completed and tested the design of k-band transceiver components, the whole design of the K band transceiver module not only achieve the design requirements, but also can be used in the actual communication project. The method of this modular design helps to reduce the cost of research and improve the efficiency.
