With the of spectra, the millimeter wave technology may have much larger application area. The study of millimeter wave technology is lagging behind in our country. Thus, it may have a large space for development. The frequency conversion module is the key component, which significantly affects the overall performance of a millimeter wave system. Moreover, the W wave band in the millimeter spectra is the window of atmosphere. As a result, this project mainly investigation of the fabrication of a frequency converter in 3mm wave band and a corresponding multiple frequency local source with Domestic chips.In the first chapter,we introduced the definition,character,application of millimeter wave and reviewed the domestic and foreign developments of the T/R millimeter modules and millimeter frequency sources.In the second chapter, we introduced the fundamental theory and technical indicators of the 3 mm up-converter, and according these indicators, a scheme was made to assign the target.In the third chapter, we accomplished the designation of the up-conversion module including the passive transition part, the selection of active chips, cavity, substrate, power supply circuit, and the final assembling and test.In the fourth chapter, we introduced the fundamental theory and technical indicators of the millimeter wave frequency source and made an overall plan of the frequency multiplier chain according to the actual requirements. Moreover, we introduced the MMIC chip used in the module.In the fifth chapter, we accomplished the designation and test of the local oscillator frequency multiplier chain including the VCO cavity, substrate, power supply circuit, and the Frequency doubling cavity, substrate, power supply circuit and the final testing structure.In the sixth chapter, we made a summary and prospects. We summarized the triumphs and failures in the design process, and proposed the assumption of improvement.
