With the development of semiconductor technology, SoC integration increases higher, more and more complex functions will be realized. Bus-based SoC has been working hard to meet the system’s requirements. So Network on a chip (NoC), which is a new communications infrastructure, will gradually replace bus-based design method and become the main design method. Compared to the bus, NoC’s communication has a higher degree of parallelism, better scalability and more convenient communication mechanism (global asynchronous-local synchronization). More and more scholars and research institutions expands its in-depth study on it, they focused on researching topology, routing algorithm, switching mode and flow control technology aspects, to ensure that NoC not only provides basic communication service but also has higher communication efficiency and lower power consumption.This paper studied a kind of "circuit-switched" NoC which has been used in a heterogeneous multicore system, although the network can provide a good communications service during task execution process, but the communication efficiency is not high enough, it causes negative effects to the speed of the system. To further enhance the performance of the system, this paper analyzed the causes of inefficient of communication through experiment and theory, at the same time the paper given two optimization plans to enhance the efficiency of communication in terms of network structure optimization and communication mechanisms:1. This paper designed and implemented two new dual-port networks, the "same dimension" dual-port network and the "diagonal" dual-port network. Both can make resource nodes receive or send two-way data at the same time, on the one hand it allows the use of current mode when resource nodes work, on the other hand it can transfer large data in terms of segment;2. This paper designed and implemented two multicast "circuit-switched" networks, one uses XY routing algorithm and the other uses UP_DOWN routing algorithm, the two networks can handle "single-source multi-destination" communication task in the way of "circuit-switched" trough one time communication.Upon the completion of the design of optimal design, this paper designed different experimental conditions to test them, analyzed and compared the performance of different network by different experimental results, proved that optimal design has significantly enhanced the communication efficiency of the network, the optimal design has achieved the optimal goal.
