The power system has tended to be operated interconnected. Not only this tendency would increase the flexibility of power system dispatching, but also would raise the complexity of distribution system. Added the sharply increase of load and more complex mode and frequency of faults, it brings forward higher requirements for the distribution network production management system currently. It is necessary to develop a distribution network production management integration platform that is more suitable for the current requirements to improve the efficiency of production and repairing.The managing tasks of the current production management system were first introduced in this article. The current requirements and development direction of current GIS-based distribution network production management system were proposed based on the analysis of the operation situation and problems exposed. The platform could do the work that current management systems could, and could attach enough importance on the opportune and effective response and recovery against the burst faults in distribution network. Based on the example of GIS-based production recovery platform operated in one city, the necessity and feasibility of constructing this kind of system is proposed via the detailed introduction of its advanced applied technology and analysis of its structure property.The system uses Oracle database system and Java2 platform, and adopts Java language to achieve the function and underlying program. Production and repair commandeering should be the central application of the new GIS-based distribution network production repairing management platform, based on the function requirement and structure property and interface technology. The system would improve the level of distribution network production management system and repairing management all around, and it could also provide higher quality reliability of supplying and better service.
