In the modern financial system, most bank or insurance company’s customer information, transaction records, and data stored in the computer, the computer system for banks not only the key for normal operation, but also is the most important resource of the development of banks. Instead of the original multiple data center and more distributed storage and handling, now the most business processing system of banks use a centralized processing mode. If the data center disaster happens, such as earthquake, tsunami, fire interrupted the business processing, it will influence all the branches and almost all of the business of the bank, and it also can make banks loss their customers. A series of serious negative effects on the banks, and may even cause financial instability. So, it is very important for banks to take emergency response measures in advance to avoid the disaster caused serious losses.Most business operations of a bank are on the AS400 mainframe. The smooth running of AS400 mainframe is connected with all branches’ business operation. Therefore, to ensure the data and system’s security and safety for the blanks is a significant task to improve the productivity as well as avoid loss. This bank aims to keep the business system running smoothly and protect data effectively in 7*24 hours. When the production host malfunctioned or system upgrade, the backup host can take over production host work quickly to ensure uninterrupted service operation and avoid cause damage. At present, this bank uses tape to backup. With continuous business development, it has been difficult to effectively support business uninterrupted system normal operation and against the disasters. Therefore, to ensure the security and stability operation of the system has become an important research subject of this bank’s IT department.This thesis will elaborate on the importance of data disaster backup of banks’ computer system, systematically studied the core technology of president disaster system financial field on the AS400 platform. It introduced the concept of high availability. Such as use of Journal technology and OS/400 system to design the technical monitor target performance etc. Through the research on the current financial industry of disaster backup system, combined with the actual situation of a small commercial bank existing computer system to improve the original data disaster recovery system. Introduced technologies of AS400、DB2 database、RPG programming language 、 CL programming language 、 Journal Management and Message Queue Management technologies etc. Focusing on the application demand, analysis user request, system design and part of the program detailed process and testing process of practice. The solution plan has been adopted. Designed database backup function、object backup、network communications、auto / manual switching function and monitoring functions of the system. The database backup module will synchronize the data of production host and backup host. Both data sending and receiving will through TCP/IP. By monitoring the results of the work of the machine, manual / automatic switching function will decide to switch manually or automatically switching function.At present, this system has been released. It effectively protect the continued operation of the banking system.
