A Research Of Multi-function Switched-beam Antenna Array

With the rapid development of the wireless communications technologies, the demand for high date rate and robust wireless communications networks is getting more and more. This also requires antennas with multiple capabilities and functions. Antenna reconfigurability is one of the popular antenna features. For example, the selectiveness of antennas in operating frequencies, polarizations, radiation patterns, gains and so on. Radiation pattern reconfigurable antennas have gained substantial attention due to their abilities to manipulate the radiation characteristics. The multi-function switched-beam antenna is one of the radiation pattern reconfigurable antennas.In this thesis, the significance and the domestic and foreign development present situation of multi-function multi-beam switch antenna are introduced at first.In chapter two, the design, manufacture and test of the multi-beam switch base station antenna array are introduced, including orthogonal dipole antenna element, antenna array, feed network of T type and switch network. The critical point of the project is the single pole four rolls MEMS switch which control the direction of the array beam and realize the ±30° beam scanning in the horizontal plane.The design of millimeter wave conformal shared aperture antenna array is introduced in the chapter three. First, the basic theory of the substrate-integrated waveguide is introduced. Then the design and the test of the 28 GHz dipole and 75 GHz slot antenna in substrate-integrated waveguide technology. The planar shared aperture antenna array and the 3D architecture of the feed network are introduced on the basis of the antenna element. Finally, the design of the millimeter wave columnar conformal shared aperture antenna array is finished based on the prior work.
