In the 21 st century, the Internet and electronic products have changed people’s life greatly. With features of small volume, low power consumption, high stability, cheap price and special functional, embedded devices have made rapid development and are accepted by a large number of consumers. Electronic photo frame is such kind of embedded device that is specificly designed for displaying.Electronic photo frame supports multiple formats of text, images and has friendly user interface. Except its application of viewing pictures in family, electronic photo frame is being widely applied in different fields both in life and manufacture, such as advertising machine in public and factory information station in paperless manufacture etc. In these applications, the number of terminals is huge and terminals are always distributed spatially, furthermore, it often requires frequent field data replacement in these conditions, according to the requirements of customers and manufacture etc. However, traditional electronic photo frame only use U disk, SD card to store data, which has seriously restricted its widespread application.The purpose of this thesis is to design a novel type of network electronic photo frame. The novel electronic photo frame solves the problems of field update data at work through the network. It also makes each application system can effectively control and communicate with electronic photo frame in real time. At the same time, the novel scheme has strong scalability, can be flexible in different fileds. The main work of this thesis includes:1. Select a core board based on Samsung S3C2440 A chip. According to function requirements of electronic photo frame, a bottom board is designed.2. Transplant the underlying bootloader, customize the kernel and graphic development framework, then a stable and small embedded system is setted up.3. Program the upper application with Qt graphical interface development framework. On the premise of Qt component and API, using C++ implement display of text and images, image deformation and other features. A third-party audio playback software, with simple play interface, is embedded in electronic photo frame.4. Program a software based on FTP network protocol,which makes the frame can communicate with the data service center on PC. Then implement a kind of quick data compare and update scheme with SQLite database.5. On the basis of the above, a system test has been conducted. And the test results reveal that the proposed network electronic photo frame is effective.
