Wireless communication technology has brought great leap forward to the quality of life, and microwave communication which has large bandwidth capacity, good signal quality and transmission distance is regarded as one of the most important means of communication, and it’s widely used in various technical communication networks. With the crowded frequency bands and increasing bandwidth requirements on microwave communication, research and application of millimeter-wave band communication has become more important and urgent than ever. This thesis has studied the key technology of V-band micro-encapsulation millimeter wave transceiver.First, this paper introduces a series of key technologies to millimeter wave transceiver components, such as: the popular transmitter and receiver structures; the popular techniques for frequency synthesizer; mixer theory; principles and design of amplifiers. Based on the understanding of these key technologies to millimeter wave transceiver, this paper proposed an appropriate design which can satisfy partner’s project index. This design includes: a detailed analysis of the selected components and the whole system planning, design framework map of micro-encapsulation millimeter wave transceiver, as well as index argumentation and analysis for each RF channel. This project design meets all the needs of index by index estimation.Then, this paper describes the hardware and software aspects of the specific design methods and results. In hardware design, this paper introduced aspects of transmitter module, receiver module, reference frequency source and passive circuits, the specific design procedure and results are also given, each module is designed to meet the requirements of the project index. In software design, control software designed by Visual Basic included control signal output serial interface port, control functions implementation as well as convenient interface.Finally, this paper describes the baseband co-experiment debugging process and test results are summarized as below: the V-band micro-encapsulation millimeter wave transceiver can work well in the specified frequency band(57GHz to 62GHz), and meets the project index perfectly.
