Due to the reforms on China’s educational system during these years, the enrollment of colleges and universities has been greatly enlarged, thus the number of resident students, which requires a higher standard for the record construction on the information of them. It certainly requires much labor and financial supports under such situation, in which pressures occur by the result of more and more mistakes in statistics. In order to prove the efficiency and quality of dormitory service and management, so that we can keep up the pace with it, and realize the standardization, informatization and modernization, it is imperative that an apartment management system be available.The paper focuses on the exploitation of a students’ apartment self-service system, to simplify the dormitory management and realize the scientificalness and efficiency. The main tool for exploiting the system is JAVA, with the framework of B/S network system and Tomcat server equipped with MySQL database. There are 3 roles in this system, which are student, administrator and super administrator, with the modules including database chart and function module to realize the functions as index show, dormitory management, resident management, hygiene check and management on charge, in which above, all the related information is contained. Meanwhile, it is also a system with the notion of student-self-service, so as to change the role of the instructors from managers to supervisors, to realize the core concept of students managing themselves and serve themselves.As a system that need not be attached to any other software or works, this one satisfies the requirement for dormitory management at college, and it should not be substituted in efficient management.
