By researching the development of the gas laser and gas laser power supply and comparing the technical level of domestic gas laser power and the foreign one, the author analyzed the significance of researching laser power supply and summarized the problems and research direction of gas power supply by combining the characteristic of the gas power supply.According to the particularity of control system of the laser switching power supply, the author analyzed its working principle and its effect of discharge on the control system. A variety of laser charging modes are analyzed in order to select a full-bridge series resonant circuit as the strong laser switching power topology circuit. It possesses the characteristics of anti-load short-circuit and that of insulated soft switch. It has less interferes on the peripheral circuit, thus reducing the high harmonic wave’s interference on external grid. IGBT is the main switching device which can achieve high-frequency and high-power output and can shut off quickly to avoid greater harm to the load.Taking the particularity of laser into consideration, DSP、FPGA or SCM can be selected as the main control system. And taking the DSP’s attributes of high price, and complicated program, and low supply voltage and its easy interference by the strong pulse into consideration, AT89C52 with the supply voltage of 5V is finally selected as the control chip. By using the principal computer to perform the remote control, a variety of laser functions including voltage settings, frequency settings, the number of pulses and a variety of fault feedbacks can be controlled to achieve intelligent control. In view of the particularity of strong lasers and its strong electromagnetic interference, the author adopted the method combining the theory and practice which added multiple anti-jamming measures. Shielding interference is the basic guarantee of normal operation of power control system. Interference signals can not only transmit via wires, but also can pass through the same space. When the hardware cannot be fully shielded or the cost of shielding is too high in tough environment, the method of combining the software and hardware is often used. The SCM system accomplishes a variety of control by operating circular instructions. Wrong judgment will be executed when testing interference signals, causing the program execution fault or wrong instruction. The software can be optimized as per specific conditions in order to avoid the wrong instructions.The control system can reliably control the strong laser switching power by using SCM AT89C52 as processor and taking anti-interference measures. And the intelligent operation of a strong laser switching power supply by communicating with principle computers is achieved. It is compatible with miniaturization and modular design, which will be good for mass production. The control system finally joint-trial with the system at the user site successfully and all the indicators put up by the user are fully met.
