Electromagnetic compatibility(EMC), refers to the equipment or products can work normally in the regulation electromagnetic environment, and without impermissible electromagnetic interference on the other devices. Along with the development of science and technology, the problem of electromagnetic compatibility attracted more attention by the peoples. The EMC test is the key to resolve the problem of electromagnetic compatibility. The electromagnetic compatibility characteristics of the devices can be tested accordance with the relevant EMC standards, and the requirement of the testing environment is very strict. The anechoic chamber is one of the very important facility in the electromagnetic compatibility testing, and as we know that different testing venues would obtained differnt measurement results. Hence, in order to assess the technical index of the anechoic chamber accurately, and make sure the technical parameters of anechoic chamber meet the relevant national standards, we designed an anechoic chamber performance testing systems based on LabVIEW programming software in this work.This testing system used the virtual instrument technology, and selected the GPIB bus to connect the signal generator、the measurement receiver and the field strength reading device. According to the different testing parameters, we selected different instruments to combine the hardware testing system. And based on the hardware testing system and the LABVIEW graphical programming language, we constitute the anechoic chamber testing system. The design of this testing system improved the efficiency of the anechoic chamber testing system, and the utilization of the equipment, and avoid the deviation caused by manual test. Also allow us to investigate the performance of the anechoic chamber in time, and then exclude the unhealth influence, and accurately give the judgment whether the device is up to standard.There are there important parameters about the anechoic chamber related to this article, including: the normalized site attenuation, the uniformity of the venue and the VSWR of the venue. And the testing principle and procedure of these parameters are given by the relevant national standards. The software testing system in this article is based on this principle, and in accordance with the test design processes. In the software system, we used the LABVIEW programming language developed by NI company to control the instruments. We chose different control process for different equipments, and control the instruments using the device drivers provided by NI. Then, we read the data from the instrumental using the VISA function and save the testing data using the I/O function in the LABVIEW files.. Finally, the results are saved into the Excel document, which is facilitated for the subsequent data processing.Then, we proceed the simulation tests, and compare the testing results with the other anechoic chamber testing systems. The experimental results show that the performance of our anechoic chamber testing systems is very good, and met our expectation.
