Android-based LBS Social Networking Platform

As of December 2013, the scale of China’s Internet users reached 618 million, Internet penetration was 45.8%, of which the size of mobile phone users reached 500 million, the proportion of Internet users that using mobile Internet increased from 74.5% in the end of 2012 to 81.0%, much higher than the proportion of Internet users use the Internet by other devices. The continued growth of mobile phone users has promoted the development of mobile terminal applications, this has become a major highlight in china Internet development in 2013. With the rapid development of mobile Internet,and GPS function has gradually become one of the standard features of the smartphone. Location Based Services(LBS) become a popular development direction of mobile Internet in recent years.LBS is a kind of Value-added services which gets the end user’s latitude and longitude information via satellite or wireless network,afterwards,with support of the electronic map, provide user-related location-based services.Foursquare website that founded in March 2009 is the originator of LBS applications,it is very popular previously,however,this kind of application declined rapidly in recent years. LBS itself actually becomes an integral part of many kinds of mobile applications. Android-Based LBS social networking platform designed in this thesis is a new binding mode between social platform and LBS.First of all, history and current situation of LBS applications are analyzed in this thesis,then analysis application development process in Android System and how to use Baidu Maps API in Android platform to provide LBS functionality.Determined the overall structure of the system on this basis.Next is requirements analysis and design of function module of this system.Then,this thesis achieved message processing module and the database access module in server,register login module,map module,campus hotspot module,event browser module, personal information management module and configuration module in client.Finally, a functional test of the system was conducted, and the test results were analyzed.The end result is an app that can run on the Android mobile phone,it can exchange data via the server and to achieve the intended function. This application is different from the general social applications,it shows information by way of locations with more real and familiar feeling.We selected that to set several locations by developer or people who is familiar with the location, allows users to share their observations and feelings in these locations. Users can also submit their custom location.The systems based on the Android platform, for the majority of Android mobile phone users,its interface is simple and it is easy to operate.
