With the unceasing change of world politics and economy environment state grid corporation will face more severe test, both energy and to guarantee the quality of electricity services. To solve these problems in order to state grid corporation launched the smart grid, power grid and the user can real-time interaction between response is the smart grid is an important embodiment. Electric power fiber to the home can be very good to strengthen the ability of power grid as a whole, improve service quality, strengthen the purpose of real-time interaction.This article first from the dynamic of power fiber to the home in the domestic and foreign development, the research significance and so on are expounded; Secondly, starting from the key technology of electric power optical fiber to the home, including Ethernet passive optical network technology and optical fiber composite low voltage cables.
