In the field of computer vision, with the technology reform of computer technology, there have been more and more researchers to join in the field of study, instrument calibration automation and intellectualization has become the current hot research topic, there are a lot of domestic and foreign scholars have made many tentative research, have also made a lot of research results. In this article, mainly for pointer and the study of the key technologies of the electric meter calibration process.First discussed the pointer meter dial positioning method in image, and then discusses the Hough transform algorithm application in the pointer Angle recognition process, made some related research. To dial the extraction of image, this paper first through camera of pointer meter image preprocessing, and then with the help of projection method to complete the pointer meter image in the vertical direction projection, then with the help of the combination of template matching method and projection finished meter for vertical positioning success on the horizontal orientation, finally completed the work of dial image positioning.Based on the extraction of the pointer Angle, first using the extraction of two face image by using the Boolean and calculations, it is concluded that no pointer to the image of dial, then dial image under test with no pointer dial image by using the Boolean xor operation to get a pointer image, then use get pointer straight line image thinning algorithm, after using Hough transform algorithm to get the Angle of the pointer, complete the extraction of the pointer Angle. This algorithm under the environment of matlab7.0 programming simulation, debugging, experiments show that the algorithm has good robustness and meet the pointer meter calibration accuracy and real-time requirements.
