Time lens are new type of ultrafast optical processing devices, which are based upon space-time duality and have similar functions with space lens. Time lens are developing very rapidly in recent years, and they have been widely applied to time imaging, optical signal detection, ultrafast optical communication and other fields. Time lens based on electro-optic phase modulation were the first achieved time lens. Because of its simple structure, flexible parameter adjustment and stable performance, this type of time lens is the main research object of this article:This article introduces the details of the time lens based on electro-optic modulation, and temporal phase zone plate lens based on electro-optic phase modulation and electro-optic intensity modulation are investigated respectively in this paper, and the temporal phase zone plate lens are proposed by B.Li etc. in2013. The influence mechanism between the central wavelength and focal dispersion compensation of phase zone plate temporal lens, and the relationships of the central wavelength of light, dispersion compensation, and the extinction ratio (ER) and FWHM of output pulse were obtained through investigation. It is found that there is an approximatively linear relationship between the focal length and optical signal central wavelength in the range of1310-1550nm. With the fitting formula, the optimal focal length of dispersion compensation can be calculated and the optimal output extinction ratio of optical pulse can be obtained. The results would provide theoretical reference for the design and optimization of phase zone plate time lens, and broaden the application range of temporal phase zone plate lens.
